LEFT
GLOVE: BACK OF HAND:
Start
at Little Finger side, ch 59 [65, 71] sts.
1ST
ROW: Sc in 2nd ch from hook
& in each ch across. Ch 1,
turn. Mark this end for tip of finger.
2ND
ROW: * Sc in back loop of next sc, sc in
front loop of next sc. Rep from *
across. Ch 1, turn.
Rep
2nd row throughout for patt--sc
in back loop falls over sc in front loop & sc in front loop over sc in back
loop of prev row.
Now
work in patt, inc 1 sc at tip of finger on 3rd row--to inc 1 sc, make 2 sc in 1 sc--&
dec 1 sc at tip of finger on 5th row--to dec 1 sc, work off 2 sc as 1 sc.
Cont
until 6 rows in all have been made, work is at wrist edge.
Meas glove against hand frequently to insure proper
fit.
RING
FINGER:
Work
across to last 16 [18, 20] sc , ch 21 [23, 25] sts.
NEXT
ROW: Sc in 2nd ch from hook
& in each ch across, sc in each sc across.
Ch 1, turn.
Work
straight in patt over these sts for 7 rows, inc 1 sc at tip of finger on 2nd
row & dec 1 sc at tip of finger on 6th row.
7th
row brings work to wrist edge.
MIDDLE
FINGER:
Work
across to last 20 [22, 24] sc & ch 23 [25, 27] sts.
Work
as for Ring Finger.
INDEX
FINGER:
Work
across to last 22 [24, 26] sc, & ch 21 [23, 25] sts.
Work
as for Ring Finger. Break off.
PALM:
Start
at Little Finger side, work as for Back of Hand until Middle Finger is
complete.
Work
is at wrist edge.
FRONT
OF THUMB:
Work
in patt over next 32 [34, 36] sc, & ch 19 [21, 23] sts. Turn.
NEXT
ROW: Sc in 2nd ch from hook
& in each ch across, work in patt over next 32 [34, 36] sc. Work over these sts only as for Ring Finger,
inc & dec at tip of Thumb until 7 rows are made. Break off.
BACK
OF THUMB & INDEX FINGER:
Attach
thread to ch at tip of Thumb.
Work
along opposite side of Thumb ch, make sc in each ch across, work in patt to
within 22 [24, 26] sc from tip of Middle Finger, ch 21 [23, 25] sts.
Sc
in 2nd ch from hook & in each st across to tip of Thumb. Ch 1, turn.
Work
6 more rows of patt as before over these sts only, inc & dec as before at
tip of both Thumb & Index Finger.
Break
off at end of 7th row.
Hold
Palm & Back pieces tog & sew around edges.
Make
small inverted pleat on back of hand at wrist.
Sew
button in center of pleat.
RIGHT
GLOVE:
Same
as Left Glove, making it to fit Right Hand.
