J & P Coats or Clark’s ONT Best Six Cord Mercerized Crochet, size 30:
Small Ball:
J & P Coats, 3 balls of white, ecru or any color
OR
Clark’s ONT, 3 balls of white or ecru, or 4 balls of any color
Steel crochet hook #10 or #11

GAUGE:
15 sps = 2”

LEFT HAND:
Starting
at wrist, ch 95.
1ST RND:
Dc in 6th ch from hk, * ch 1, sk 1 ch, dc in next ch. Rep from * across until there are 45 sps on
rnd, ch 1 & make dc in 1st sp at beg of same rnd, thus joining.
2ND RND:
* Ch 1, dc in next sp. Rep from *
around.
Rep 2nd rnd 3 more times.
NEXT RND: Make 7
ch-1 sps, ch 1, dc in same place as last dc [ an inc ].
[Ch 1, dc in next sp] 5 times; ch 1, dc in same place as last dc [
another inc ] – thus incs for Thumb are started.
Cont to work in patt around, making inc over each inc on
each rnd, having 1 more sp bet incs on each rnd, until there are 16 sps bet
incs for Thumb.
THUMB: Work around
without inc to 2nd thumb-inc sp, make dc in inc sp, ch 12, dc in inc
sp of 1st inc for thumb on prev rnd.
Now work around thumb sps [making 6 sps over ch-12], until
Thumb, then tried on is 3 rnds less than desired length.
NEXT RND: Dc in each
sp around, omitting ch-1.
FOLLOWING RND: * Sk
1 dc, dc in next dc. Rep from * around.
NEXT RND: Sc in
every other dc around. Fasten off,
leaving 6” length of thread.
Thread needle with this length & draw it thru to wrong
side. Fasten end securely.
With back of hand toward you, attach thread to 2nd
sp on ch-12 at base of Thumb, ch 4, * dc in next sp, ch 1. Rep from * all around back & palm of
hand, making sp in each sp around base of Thumb.
Work around without inc until glove, when tried on reaches
to base of your fingers.
Put glove on & mark fingers by putting safety pin on
palm & back of hand, bet each finger.
FOREFINGER:
Work
around to safety pin of Forefinger at back of hand, ch 6 & cont around sps
of forefinger on palm.
Now cont working as for Thumb, making 3 sps over ch-6 bet
fingers for stretch, until finger when tried on, is 3 rnds less than desired
length.
Finish as for Thumb.
MIDDLE FINGER:
With
back of hand toward you, attach thread in last sp at base of Forefinger [bet
fingers].
Work across sps on back of hand for Middle Finger, ch 6,
& work across sps on palm for Middle Finger; make sp in each sp at base of
Forefinger [bet fingers] & cont as before until finger, when tried on, is 3
rnds less than desired length.
Finish as for Forefinger.
RING FINGER:
Work as
for Middle Finger.
LITTLE FINGER:
With
back of hand toward you, attach thread to last sp at base of Ring Finger [bet
fingers].
Work around rem sps, making sp in each sp at base of Ring
Finger & complete as for other fingers.
CUFF:
Attach thread
in 1st sp at beg of 1st rnd, ch 1.
1ST RND:
4 Sc in 1st sp, * 3 sc in each of next 2 sps, 4 sc in next
sp. Rep from * around.
2ND RND:
Sc in 1st sc, * ch 4, dc in next sc, ch 3, sk 3 sc, sc in
next sc. Rep from * around, end with sl
st in 1st sc [30 ch-4 lps on rnd].
3RD RND:
Sl st in 2 ch of 1st ch-4, sc in same ch-4 lp, * ch 4, sc in
next ch-4 lp. Rep from * around, end
with ch 4, sl st in 1st sc [30 lps on rnd].
4TH RND:
4 Sc in each lp around. Join.
5TH RND:
Sc in 1st sc, * ch 5, sk 3 sc, sc in next sc. Rep from * around, end with ch 2, dc in same
place as 1st sc [30 lps on rnd].
6TH, 7TH & 8TH
RNDS: * Ch 5, sc in next lp. Rep from * around, end with ch 2, dc in dc.
9TH RND:
Ch 5, * sc in next lp, 7 dc in next lp, sc in next lp, ch 5. Rep from * around, end with sc in dc.
10TH RND:
Ch 5, * sc in next lp, ch 1, [dc in next dc, ch 1] 7 times. Rep from * around, end with sc in last free
lp.
11TH RND:
* Ch 3, sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep
from * around.
12TH RND:
* Ch 5, sk 2 sps on 10th rnd, dc in next sp on 10th
rnd, ch 5, sk 2 sps on 10th rnd, dc in next sp on 10th
rnd, ch 5, sc in next sc on 10th rnd. Rep from * around, end with ch 2, dc in sc
precede 1st ch-5 [30 lps on rnd].
Rep 6th to 12th rnds incl once more,
then 6th to 11th rnds incl once again. Fasten off.
