ROW: Work 5 dc in ring, ch 2, * 6 dc in
ring, ch 2, * rep bet * 2 more times, join, ch 1.
2ND
ROW: * Work 1 sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc, ch
2, 2 sc in ch 2 of prev row *. Rep bet *
3 times, join, ch 2.
3RD
ROW: * Work 1 dc in next 8 sts, 2 dc, ch
2, 2 dc in next st *. Rep bet * 3 more
times, join, ch 1.
Rep
2nd & 3rd rows for patt, & cont to inc in this
manner for 6 dc rows.
BORDER:
1ST
ROW: Work 1 sc in first st, * wind yarn
over piece of cardboard cut ¾” wide, keeping this over board, work 1 sc in next
st *. Rep bet *s around row.
2ND
ROW: Work 1 sc in each sc of row below.
Rep
these 2 rows 2 more times.
Make
2 pieces.
Make
paper patt from crocheted pieces& lay aside to be used later.
Sew
crocheted pieces tog tightly.
FINISHING:
Cut
lining according to paper patt & sew tog.
Shirr
lining bag form to correspond with crocheted bag.
Insert
finished lining in bag.
Sew
in zipper.
Attach
ornament to zipper pull.
Note:
Cardboard or lightweight plastic may be inserted
between bag & lining to give shape of bag extra support.
HAT:
Ch
3, join, work 6 sc in ring.
1ST
ROW: 2 Sc in next 6 sts.
2ND
ROW: * 1 Sc in one st, 2 sc in next st
*, rep bet *s around row.
3RD
ROW: * 1 Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next
st *, rep bet *s around row.
4TH
ROW: * 1 Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next
st *. Rep bet * around row.
Keep
working this way, having 1 st more before inc st every row until hat meas 6”
across.
RUFFLE:
Ch
16 sts.
1ST
ROW: Sk 1 ch, 1 sc in each ch, ch 1,
turn.
2ND
ROW: * 1 Sc in first st, wrap yarn over
piece of cardboard cut ¾” wide, holding thread over cardboard, work 1 sc in
next st *. Rep bet *s across row. Ch 1, turn.
Rep
these 2 rows for 20”.
FINISHING:
Fold
Ruffle in half & sew around edge of hat.
