Lattice Loop Gloves #298
Quick & easy to
create, these feminine gloves will become a season-spanning favorite
& you’ll be the best dressed lady on the block!
MATERIALS:
Clark’s
ONT [3 balls]
OR
J
& P Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 30, 2 balls
#7
Steel Crochet Hook
The
glove is worked throughout in lattice loops.
LEFT
HAND:
1ST
RND: * Ch 2, thread over hook, insert
hook in 2nd ch from hook & pull loop thru, yo & draw thru
all sts at once. Rep from * 37 more
times [or more to be large enough to go over the hand]. Join with sl st to form ring.
2ND
RND: * Make 2 p’s as before [always ch 1
at end of 2nd p hereafter], sk 1st & 2nd p’s
of prev rnd, sc bet 2nd & 3rd p’s [this will be a
lattice loop]. Rep from * around [19
lattice loops].
3RD
RND: * Make 1 lattice loop, make sc in
center of next lattice loop [bet 2 p’s] of prev rnd. Rep from * around.
4TH
THRU 11TH RNDS: Same as 3rd
rnd.
SHAPING
FOR THUMB:
12TH
RND: Make 1 lattice loop, make another
lattice loop but put sc in same loop as prev sc [an inc], 3 lattice loops, 1
lattice loop put sc in same lattice loop as prev sc. Work lattice loops around with no more incs.
13TH
& 14TH RNDS: Same as 3rd
rnd.
15TH
RND: Same as 12th rnd, make
incs in lattice loops directly over incs of 12th rnd.
16TH
THRU 19TH RNDS: Same as 3rd
rnd.
20TH
& FOLLOWING RNDS: Work lattice loops
as far as 1 loop beyond 1st inc of thumb, then make 2 p’s, sk next 6
lattice loops [which are bet 2 incs of thumb], sc in next lattice loop
[separates thumb from hand].
Work
lattice loops around & around the hand part of glove, until when tried on,
it reaches to the base of fingers.
FINGERS:
Put
glove on & mark fingers by putting safety pin on palm & back of hand
bet each finger.
FOREFINGER:
Make
lattice loops over lattice loops, make 2 p’s to join loops tog that have been
held tog by pin bet forefinger & middle finger. Do not remove pin.
Work
in spiral for about 14 rnds, or until desired length.
It
is better not to have fingers too long.
Draw
tip tog by making sc in each loop. Fasten
& break off.
MIDDLE
FINGER:
Attach
thread to loop at pin on palm side bet ring finger & middle finger.
Work
lattice loops across, making sc in loop where prev pin is, sc in loop where
same pin is on back of hand [no loop bet], make lattice loops across making 2 p’s
to join loops tog that have been held tog by pin bet middle finger & ring
finger.
Work
in spiral, make lattice loops until desired length. Fasten as before.
RING
& LITTLE FINGERS:
Same
as Forefinger & Middle Finger.
THUMB:
Attach
thread to loop on palm side of hand & work as for fingers.
GAUNTLET:
1ST
ROW: Attach thread in loop to left of
center on palm side, & work across, but do not join to beg but make 3 p’s
to turn.
Entire
gauntlet is worked in rows.
2ND
ROW: Sc in next loop, 3 lattice loops, *
in next loop make: 1 sc, 3 dc, 3 tr, 3 dc, 1 sc. Make 2 lattice loops & rep from *
across. Make 3 p’s & turn.
3RD
ROW: Lattice loops across make 2 loops
on each shell of prev row.
4TH
THRU 11TH ROWS: Lattice loops
across.
GAUNTLET
EDGING:
Attach
thread to 1st sp at opening of Gauntlet.
1ST
ROW: * Ch 5, sc in next lattice
loop. Rep from * around. Turn.
2ND
ROW: * Ch 10, sl st in last sc, ch 1,
turn & make 18 sc in ring, turn ring, 6 sc over each of next 2 loops, rep
from * around.
RIGHT
HAND:
Make
same as for Left Hand, only being careful that fingers are made to correspond
with right hand.
ENJOY!
