Vintage 1970 Crocheted Lace Sleeveless Pullover Dress #719


So easy to create this exquisite, lace, dress…
Picture it in a longer length as a lovely, lace bridal or evening gown! 


Sizes:
Small (Bust 32) - Medium (Bust 37) - Large (Bust 42) -

MATERIALS:
3, 3, 4--4 oz pull-skeins Jack Frost Wintuk knitting worsted type yarn
# "K" crochet hook

GAUGE:
4 spaces = 3 ½”

CHAIN  13 (small) - 16 (medium) - 19 (large).

Be sure to check your gauge before starting garment.
Use any size hook which will obtain the stitch gauge above.

BACK SHOULDER PIECE:
Row 1:  1 dc in 4th ch, * 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in 3rd ch, rep from * 2, 3, 4 times.

Row 2:  Ch 4, turn, 1 dc under ch 1 sp, * 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 sp, rep from * 1, 2, 3 times, ending, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under ch 4 sp.

REP ROW 2 FOR PATT.

Work even in patt until piece meas 3".  End off & cut yarn. 

Make SECOND PIECE the same, but DO NOT CUT yarn.

Row 3:  Ch 4, turn, work even in patt to end, ch 15, 18, 21, * 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under ch 1 sp on other piece, work even in patt to end.


Row 4:  Ch 4, turn, work in patt across 4, 5, 6, sps.  Work 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in second ch, * work 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in 3rd ch, rep from * 3, 4, 5 times, work even in patt across last 4, 5, 6, sps.  (13, 16, 19 sps).

Work even in patt until piece meas 7“, 7 ½", 7 ½".

End off & cut yarn.

FRONT:   
Make 2 shoulder pieces same as on back, but 4", 4 ½", 5" long.

CONNECT 2 pieces, same as on the back. 

Work even until front section meas 7“, 7 ½“, 7 ½” long, same as back. 

Work 1 row even across front section. DO NOT END OFF.

UNDERARM:
Row 5:  HOLDING FRONT PIECE, ch 15 (for underarm), work even in patt across back section, ch 15 (for underarm), join with sl st in ch 4 of front piece.  (Dress is now worked around, instead of back & forth).

Row 6:  Ch 4, 1 dc in ch 1 sp.  Work even in patt across front piece, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in second ch of underarm, * 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in 3rd ch, rep from * 3 times, work even in patt across back section, work across underarm section same as before, join with sl st in ch 4 of front piece.  (36, 42, 48 patts).

Work even for 4 rows.

Row 7:  (INC ROW):  Ch 4, 1 dc under ch 1 sp, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 sp, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc under next sp, * 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 sp, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 sp, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc under next sp, rep from * around, join with sl st. 

REP Row 7 FOR PATT.  Work even in patt for 10 rows.

ROW 8:  (INC ROW):  Ch 4, 1 dc under ch 1 sp, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 sp, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc under next sp, * 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 sp, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc under next ch 1 sp, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc under next sp, rep from * around, join with sl st.  Rep ROW 8 FOR PATT.  Work even in patt until piece meas desired length.

FINISHING:  
Sew shoulder seams. 
Work 1 row of shell stitch around neck & armholes.

Shell stitch-spacing evenly, 1 sc in hole, * 5 dc in hole, 1 sc in hole, rep from * around.

Block with damp cloth if necessary.
