Vintage Cropped Fluffy Jacket #1126
SIZE:
Directions are for Size 10.
Changes for Sizes 12, 14 & 16 are in brackets.

MATERIALS:
Columbia Minerva Knitting Worsted, 4 oz Skein - 5[5-6-6] Skeins
or
Columbia Minerva Calypso Germantown Knitting Worsted, 2 Or 4 oz Skein -  20[22-24-26] Ozs
1 Boye Aluminum Crochet Hook #G/5

GAUGE:
1 patt = 1”
4 rows = 1”

BACK:
Ch 41[44-47-50] loosely to meas about 13½”[14½”-15½”-16½”]. 

1ST ROW - WRONG SIDE: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hk, 1 sc in each ch = 40[43-46-49] sc, ch 3, turn. 

2ND ROW: 1 dc in 1st sc, draw up 1st lp to meas about 1, * sk 2 sc, 1 sc in next sc, ch 2, 1 long dc in same sc, rep from * across, end 1 sc in last sc = 13[14-15-16] patts, ch 3, turn. 

3RD ROW: 1 long dc in 1st sc, 1 sc in next sc, * ch 3, 1 long dc in same sc, 1 sc in next sc, rep from * across, end last sc in turning-ch, ch 3, turn.

Rep 3rd Row for patt.

Work 8 rows, then inc 1 sc each side every other row 3 times, keep end sts in sc.

Then work 1 more patt each side over inc sts.

Cont to inc 1 patt in this manner every 6th row twice more = 19[20-21-22] patts = back meas about 6“ from start.

SLEEVES:
Ch 25 at end of next 2 rows for 24 sc = 8 patts each side = 35[36-37-38] patts across row.

Work 6 rows, then inc 1 sc each side every other row, to add 1 patt each side every 6th row 3 times = 41[42-43-44] patts. Break yarn.

Mark center 7[8-7-8] patts for back of neck. 

SHOULDER:
Sk 9 patts at sleeve edge, join yarn & work next 8[8-9-9] patts, turn & work 4[4-5-5] patts. Break yarn.

Work other shoulder to corres.

LEFT FRONT:
Ch 23[26-29-32] for 22[25-28-31] sc to meas about 7½”[8½”-9½”-10½”].

Work 7[8-9-10] patts for 8 rows, then inc 1 st at side edge every other row 9 times to inc 3 patts = 10[11-12-13] patts across.

Front meas same as back to underarm.

SLEEVES:
Ch 25 at side edge for 24 sc = 8 patts = 18[19-20-21] patts across.

Work 6 rows, then inc 1 sc at sleeve edge every other row, to add 1 patt every 6th row 3 times = 21[22-23-24] patts.

AT SAME TIME: when front edge meas 11½“, work Neck as follows:

Work to last 3[4-5-5] patts, ch 3, turn.

Work until sleeve meas same as on back. 

SHOULDER:
Sk 9[9-9-10] patts at sleeve edge, join yarn & work 8[8-9-9] patts, ch 3 & turn, work 4[4-5-5] patts. Break yarn & fasten.

RIGHT FRONT:
Work to corres to Left Front, reverse shaping.

COLLAR:
Ch 47[50-53-56].

Work in patt same as on Back = 15[16-17-18] patts across row.

Work for 12 rows, break yarn & fasten.

Work 2 rows of sc along underarm & lower sleeve edges

Sew underarm & sleeve edges.

Sew upper sleeve edges & shoulder seams, hold in extra fullness on front over shoulder.

LEFT FRONT BORDER:
Start at lower edge on wrong side, work 6 rows of 60 sc along front edge.

RIGHT FRONT BORDER:
Work to corres to Left Front Border, work 5 BUTTONHOLES as follows:

On 3rd row, start at neck edge, work 2 sc, * ch 4, sk 4 sc, work 9 sc, rep from * 3 times more, ch 4, sk 4 sc, work to end of row.

Next row work 4 sc over each ch-4.

FINISHING:
Work 1 row of sc around neck edge, hold in to meas slightly less than collar bet front borders.

Sew start ch of collar to neck.

Work 2 rows of sc around collar, start on wrong side.

Work 1 row of sc across lower edge & 2 rows across sleeve edges.
