Vintage Rose Pillow
MATERIALS:
American Thread Co, Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn: 1 - 70 yd skein each Dark Green & White, 3- 70 yd skeins Black, Plastic Crochet Hook Size H, Shredded Foam Rubber or Kapok for filling, ½ yd Lining Material
GAUGE:
3 dc = 1" (Rose)
3 sc = 1" (Pillow)
ROSE:
With White ch 7, sdc in 1st st of ch (sdc - yo hk, insert in st, pull loop thru, yo & work off all lps at 1 time), * ch 4, sdc in same sp, rep from * 3 times, ch 4, join in 2nd st of ch.
2nd RND: Ch 1, *1 s c, 1 sdc, 3 dc, 1 sdc, 1 sc in next ch-4 lp, rep from * all around, join in ch 1.
3rd RND: Ch 6, sc bet next 2 sc bet petals, * ch 5, sc in sc bet next 2 sc bet petals, rep from * 3 times, ch 5, join in 1st st of 1st lp.
4th RND: Ch 1, * 1 sc, 1 sdc, 5 dc, 1 sdc, 1 sc in next lp, rep from * all around, join in ch 1.
5th RND: Ch 8, sc bet next 2 sc bet petals, * ch 7, sc bet next 2 sc bet petals, rept from * 3 times, ch 7, join in 1st st of 1st lp.
6th RND: Ch 1, * 1 sc, 1 sdc, 2 dc, 3 trc, 2 dc, 1 sdc, 1 sc in next lp, rep from * all around, join in ch 1.
7th RND: Ch 9, sc bet next 2 sc bet petals, * ch 8, sc bet next 2 sc bet petals, rep from * 3 times, ch 8, join in 1st st of 1st lp.
8th RND: Ch 1, * 1 sc, 1 sdc, 1 dc, 2 trc, 3 dtrc (3 times over hk), 2 trc, 1 dc, 1 sdc, 1 sc in next lp, rep from * all around, join in ch 1, cut yarn.
9th RND: Attach Dark Green in dc before sp bet any 2 petals, two 3-dc cluster sts with ch 3 bet in sp bet petals (dc cluster st- keep last lp of each st on hk, 3 dc in same sp, yo & work off all lps at 1 time), sk 2 sts of next petal, join in next dc, cut yarn.
Work 5 more groups in same manner placing one in each of next 5 sps bet scallops.
PILLOW:
With Black work 2 sections same as Pansy Pillow.
With Black work 2 sections same as Pansy Pillow.
Sew rose in position to center of top section.
Work lining & finishing same as Pansy Pillow.
