TENSION::
7 sts = 1”
4TH: Cut 2 pieces of crinoline ½” shorter, but same width as lining pieces.
5TH: With right sides facing, sew 2 pieces of lining tog along 1 width & 2 height edges, allow ½” for seams.
3. LINE DRAWSTRING BAGS:
2ND & 3RD: Same as for Frame Bag.
4TH: With right sides facing, sew 2 pieces of lining tog along 1 width & 2 height edges, allow ½” for seams.
Sew rem 2 pieces in same way. Turn right side out.

BANDEAU
This is worked in bands in s.s.
First 12 rows having purl side facing, & next 8 rows right side facing.
Cast on 240 sts. & k. 1 row into backs of sts.
Work 12 rows in s.s., beg with p. row.
Work 8 rows, beg with k. row & end with p. row.
Work 8 rows, beg with p. row.
Rep last 16 rows once more, then 4 rows more on last band.
Cast off loosely.
NOTE:
The 3 rolls with p. side facing form right side of the bandeau.
FINISH TURBAN:
With same wool, sew cast-on edge to cast-off edge of cap, beg at face edge, then run thru sts. at centre, & draw up.
Place cap on head with seam at centre-front, & pin centre of bandeau to centre-back of cap.
Bring an end rnd each side & twist once at front; carry ends back & sew them under band about level with ears.
Take care to keep 3 p. rolls uppermost.
Stitch lowest roll loosely to cap edge, leave about 2” unattached under front twist.
At back loosely st 2nd k. band to cap.

Join cast-off ends of tie part, so that you now have loop at other end of cap.
Press turban with hot iron over damp cloth.
To wear turban, place cap part on your head so that loop end is over fore-head & cap fits snugly at back.
Then twist loop close to head, &, holding knot thus made firmly in place, fold loop back over head so that it makes turban effect round edge of cap, & fits head comfortably.
Cast on 22 sts. for centre of back head part.

“HOW-TO” HANDBAG INSTRUCTIONS:
1. MAKE TWISTED CORD:
Cut
strands as directed.
Knot
ends and put knotted end over a stationary hook.
Twist
strands until they buckle; then double piece and slip other end over hook.
Twist
in opposite direction and knot free ends to prevent raveling.
Draw
cords in opposite directions through beading. Tie and trim ends.
2. LINE FRAME BAGS:
1ST: Meas inside edge of 1 side of Metal Bag
Frame; add 1”. This is width of lining.
2ND: Meas height of crocheted piece, incl ½
of bottom of bag [if there is one]; add 1”. This is length of lining.
3RD: Cut 4 pieces of lining material, follow
above meas.
4TH: Cut 2 pieces of crinoline ½” shorter, but same width as lining pieces.
5TH: With right sides facing, sew 2 pieces of lining tog along 1 width & 2 height edges, allow ½” for seams.
Sew 2 crinoline pieces
in same way.
Slip lining piece inside
crinoline piece, turn lining over at top edge & tack [right side of lining
is inside].
Sew 3 edges of rem 2
lining pieces. Turn right side out.
Slip crinoline piece
inside this piece.
Turn top edge down
between other thicknesses & sew in place.
Top edge of lining
should be same meas as inner edge of open frame.
