***Work 2 sts. tog. at beg (shaped edge) of next row & following 2 alternate rows.

Work 3 rows straight.

Rep last 8 rows from *** 5 times more & first 3 rows again, when 31 sts. will rem.

Work 106 rows straight in m.s., then cast off.

Work second half exactly same.

These two halves are then ready to be joined tog.

FINISH TURBAN:
Sew cast-on edges & shaped edges tog in one line for centre head seam, then fasten off, leave long straight parts free.

This makes cap part of turban.

Join cast-off ends of tie part, so that you now have loop at other end of cap.

Press turban with hot iron over damp cloth.

To wear turban, place cap part on your head so that loop end is over fore-head & cap fits snugly at back.

Then twist loop close to head, &, holding knot thus made firmly in place, fold loop back over head so that it makes turban effect round edge of cap, & fits head comfortably.
