worsted yarn

2: Ch 5, turn, 2 tc under ch 2 sp, * ch 2, 2 tc under ch 2 sp, rep from *
across, ending ch 2, 1 tc in top of turning ch.
Row
3: Ch 4, turn 1 tc under ch 2 sp, * ch 2, 2 tc under next ch 2 sp, rep
from * across, ending ch 2, 2 tc under turning ch (piece will meas about 30“,
34“, 38“, 42" wide).
Work
even in patt for 16" or desired length to underarm, ending with row 3.
ARMHOLES:
Row
4: Ch 4, turn, 1 tc under ch 2 sp, * ch 2, 2 tc under next ch 2 sp, rep
from * 3, 4, 5, 6 times.
Row
5: Ch 5, turn 2 tc under ch 2 sp, * ch 2, 2 tc under next ch 2 sp, rep
from * 2, 3, 4, 5 times.
Row
6: Ch 4, turn, 1 tc under ch 2 sp, * ch 2, 2 tc under next ch 2 sp, rep
from * 1, 2, 3, 4 times, ch 2, 2 tc under turning ch.
Row
7: Ch 5, turn, 2. tc under ch 2 sp, * ch 2, 2 tc under next ch 2 sp, rep
from * 1, 2, 3, 4 times.
Keeping
decs as in prev rows, work even until armhole is 7, 7, 8, 8 rows long. End off.
FRONT:
Attach
yarn to top of turning ch on other side of Vest.
Starting
with row 4, work other side to correspond.
BACK:
Attach
yarn to 3rd ch 2 sp over. from front (leaving out 6 tc & 2 [ch 2] sps).
Starting
with patt row 3, work even in patt across back (leaving out 6 tc & 2 ch 2
sps for other armhole) until back meas same as front. End off.
Sew
shoulder seams.
Work
2 rows around each armhole.
FIRST
CIRCLE ON BOTTOM:
Ch
3, join with sl st to form ring, ch 3, work 7 dc in ring, remove st from
crochet hook, lay half completed circle next to first ch 2 sp on bottom right
side of vest, right sides of both pieces facing up.
Pull
loose st thru sp, from back towards front, insert crochet hook, & work 8
more dc in ring, join with sl st to 3rd ch. End off. Weave in loose ends.
SECOND
CIRCLE:
Ch
3, join with sl st to form ring, work 7 dc in ring, remove st from hook, lay
half completed circle next to finished circle, on the side.
Pull
loose st from back towards front, bet 4th & 5th dc (of circle) from where
first circle was attached.
Insert
hook, work 4 dc in ring, attach circle to bottom of vest as before, in 2nd sp
to left, work 4 more dc in ring, join with sl st. End Off.
Weave
in loose ends.
Cont
in this way to attach circles across bottom of vest:
When
you reach left side of front, cont attaching circles up left front, around
neck, & down right front, spacing as nec to keep edges flat.
FINISHING:
Block
if necessary.
SIZE: 22,
26, 30, 34 inches at waist
MINI-SKIRT:
Ch
74, 90, 106, 122.
Row
1: Same as vest (17, 21, 25, 29 ch 2 sp).
Row
2: Same as vest.
Row
3: Same as vest.
Rep
rows 2 & 3 for patt.
Row
4: Work inc in every 4th ch 2 sp by working * ch 2, 2 tc under ch 2 sp, ch
2, 2 tc under same ch 2 sp.
Work
even in patt for 4 rows.
Row
5: Work inc in every 7th ch 2 sp.
Work
even in patt until piece meas 14” inches, or 2“ less than desired length.
FINISHING:
Sew
seam.
Work
2 rows of dc around waist, working 1 dc in each chain.
Work
1 row of circles around bottom, as on vest, working first circle in any ch 2
sp, * next circle in bet 3rd & 4th tc to left, next circle in second ch 2
sp to left, rep from * around or whatever spacing is nec to keep work flat.
Insert
elastic at waistband.
Block
if necessary.
