CROWN:
Ch
4. Join with sl st into ring.
1st rnd:
Ch
3, 14 dc in ring [15 dc, count turning ch as 1 dc]. Join with st st to top of ch 3.
2nd rnd:
Ch
3, dc in same place as sl st, 2 dc in each st around [30 sts]. Join.
3rd rnd:
Ch
3, * 2 dc in next st, dc in next st. Rep
from * around [45 sts]. Join.
Cont
inc 15 sts each rnd [do not inc directly over prev incs] for 2 more rnds [75
sts]. Join.
6th rnd:
Ch
2, sk 1 st, dc in next st, ch 4, dc in top of prev dc [cross st made], * thread
over hook twice, insert hook in next st & draw loop through, thread over
& draw through 2 loops on hook, thread over, sk 1 st, insert hook in next
st & draw loop through, [thread over & draw through 2 loops on hook] 4
times; ch 1, dc in center of cross st.
Rep from * around [25 cross sts].
Join with sl st to 3rd ch of 1sgt cross st.
7th rnd:
Ch
3, work dc around, inc in every 5th st. Join [90 sts].
8th rnd:
Same
as 6th rnd [30 cross sts].
9th, 10th & 11th
rnds: Ch 3, work dc in each st around [90
sts]. Join.
12th rnd:
Ch
1, sc in each st around. Join.
BRIM:
1st rnd:
Ch
1, work sc around, inc in every 9th st [100 sts]. Join.
2nd rnd:
Ch
3, work dc around, inc in every 6th st [116 sts]. Join.
3rd rnd:
ch
3, work dc around, inc in every 7th st [do not inc directly over
prev incs]. Join.
4th rnd:
Ch
3, work dc around, inc 3 sts in rnd.
Join.
5th rnd:
Same
as 6th rnd of Crown [45 cross sts].
6th rnd:
Ch
1, work sc in each st around. Join;
fasten off.
FINISHING:
Brush
with millinery sizing.
Stretch
into shape & allow to dry.
Sew
on ribbon & make bow with streamers hanging down back.
