A clever needle worker
will quickly create this lovely snood into a perfect wardrobe favorite to keep
or gift!
MATERIALS:

yd. balls, American Thread Co. 'Star' Pearl Cotton, Size 5

or 6 Steel Hook

SNOOD:
1st row:
With
single strand of thread, ch 1, *pull up about a 3/8” loop on hook, thread over
& pull through, sc in single loop, [ a single knot st ] rep from * 32
times, turn.
2nd row:
Sc
in 4th sc from hook, * pull
up a 3/8” loop on hook, thread over & pull through, sc in single loop, rep
from *, [ a double loop knot st ] sk 1 sc, sc in next sc, * double loop knot
st, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc, rep from * across row, work 3 single loop knot sts,
turn.
3rd row:
Sc
in center of sc of double knot st of prev row, * double knot st, sc in next
center sc of next double knot st, rep from * across row, work 3 single loop
knot sts, turn.
Rep
3rd row 20 times, break thread.
Gather
at each end.
Join
thread at side & over elastic work * 5 sc, sc over elastic & into next
center sc of double knot st, rep from * to end gathers, 5 sc over elastic, sc
over elastic & into end gathers, 5 sc over elastic, sc over elastic &
into next center sc of next double knot st, cont in same manner across rem of
snood, join, break thread.
BAND:
Ch
125 & work 124 sc on ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd row:
Work
1 loop st in each st, [ loop st: wind thread over index finger, insert hook in
st, draw thread through pulling thread from under finger, drop loop from finger
letting fall to right side of work & complete sc ] ch 1, turn.
3rd row:
Work
1 sc in each st, ch 1, turn.
Rep
2nd & 3rd rows, 5 times, break thread.
FINISHING:
Sew
band to each end of snood.
