Armhole
Border:
With # 3 Needles, start 2
patts below shoulder [Front], pick up & k 39 sts, cont down back picking up
39 more sts [78 sts].
K even for ¾”, [8 rows],
bind off.
Make right sleeve border to
correspond.
Sew underarm seams.
With Crochet Hook & 2
strands of Silver Crepe, ch 2 cords, each 7” long.
Pull cords thru edge of
front & back neck borders at each side 5” from sleeve edge & attach
crystal ball buttons to each end of cords, to tie.
Belt:
Make a ch 38” long.
Work 5 rows of sc on chain.
Skirt:
With #3 Needles, cast on 268
sts.
Work 11 rows in plain
knitting, then work in lace patt same as Blouse [14 patts across row] for 8
patts or 1” less than desired length.
On last p row, p 2 tog
[about every 3rd & 4th st], until 198 sts rem.
Change to #1 Needles & k
1, p 1, [ribbing] for 1 ½“. Bind off, do
not break yarn.
With Crochet Hook, work
casing for elastic inside of ribbing as follows:
*Ch 5, sk 2 sts, 1 sl st in
next st ½” below top, ch 5, sk 2 sts, 1 sl st in next st at top, rep from *
across ribbing.
Sew side seam.
Press on wrong side, &
stretch to size.
Hat-
Crown:
Ch 3, join in ring.
1st
row: 6 Sc in ring.
2nd
row: 2 Sc in each st.
3rd
row: * 2 Sc in one st, 1 sc in next st, rep from * around.
4th
row: * 2 Sc in next st., 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, rep from *
around row.
Cont to inc in this manner 6
times in each rnd, or enough to keep work flat, until work meas 6” in
diameter.
Work even, 1 sc in each st
for 2 ½“, then make 1 row of sl st.
Begin
brim by inc 1 st in every 8th
st.
Work even for 1 row.
Inc 1 st in every 10th
st for 1 row.
Work even for 1 row.
Inc 1 st in every 12th
st for 1 row.
Cont to inc in this manner
every 2 or 3 rows for 3” so that brim is almost flat.
Finish by working 1 row over
a strand of millinery wire.
Block hat to desired head
size.
Turn up back of brim.
