not join, work back & forth:

row & all even rows: K 4 [5], p 8, k 4 [5],
* p 5, k 4 [5], p 8, k 4 [5], rep from * across.
3rd
row: P 4 [5], sl next 4 to cable needle &
hold in back, k next 4 then k the 4 from cable needle to twist cable, p 4 [5],
* k 5, p 4 [5], twist cable, p 4 [5], rep from * across.
5th
row: Rep 1st row.
7th
row: P 4 [5], k 8, p 4 [5], * k 5, p 4 [5], k
8, p 4 [5], rep from * across.
9th
row: Rep 1st row.

row: Rep 7th row.

Rep
these 12 rows for pattern, working until 2nd cable twist row has
been completed.

Slits:
Work
1st 46 [51] sts, drop yarn but do not break off; join 2nd
skein of yarn & work to last 46 [51] sts, drop skein; join 3rd
skein & work to end.
Working
3 separate sections with 3 skeins of yarn, continue in pattern until 5th
cable twist row has been completed.
Break off 2nd & 3rd skeins.

row: On wrong side with remaining skein work

Buttonholes:

Armbands:
On
back edge of arm slits, starting on right side work 28 sc, ch 1, turn &
work 6 more rows.
Sew
short edges in place.
On
right side work 1 row of sl st on front edge of arm slits.
Fringe:
Cut
3 - 14” strands.
Fold
in half & draw loop thru st at lower edge.
Draw
ends thru loop & tighten.
Make
9 fringes to each pattern.
