MATERIALS:
Hiawatha Super Twist Rayon Cord Art #41, 2 tubes

HAT:
Make chain 22”.long.
Make chain 22”.long.
1ST ROW:
Sc in 2nd ch from hk & in each ch across until row meas
about 21”. Number of sts must be multiple of 8 plus 1. Ch 1, turn.
2ND ROW:
Sc in next 2 sc, popcorn in next st [to make popcorn – make 5 dc in same
st, drop lp from hk, insert hk in 1st dc & draw dropped lp
thru], * sc in next 3 sts, popcorn in next st.
Rep from * across, ending with 2 sc.
Mark center of row.
Ch 1, turn.
3RD ROW:
Sc in each sc & each popcorn across.
Ch 1, turn.
4TH ROW:
S c in each st to center, popcorn in center st, sc in each st to
end. Ch 1, turn.
5TH & ALL ODD ROWS: Same as 3rd row.
6TH ROW:
Sc to 2 sts before popcorn on 4th row, popcorn in next st, sc
in next 3 sts, popcorn in next st, sc to end.
Ch 1, turn.
8TH ROW:
Sc to 2 sts before popcorn on prev popcorn row, * popcorn in next st, sc
in next 3 sts. Rep from * once more,
popcorn in next st, sc to end. Ch 1,
turn.
10TH TO 12TH ROWS: Work in same way as 8th row [4
popcorns on 10th row & 5 popcorns on 12th row]. Ch 1, turn.
Rep last 4 rows, thus making 4 & 5 popcorns
alternately, until piece is 3” from beg.
NEXT ROW: Work in
patt to 2 sts beyond popcorn section. Ch
1, turn.
Cont to work back & forth in patt on center section only for about 2”, ending with 4 popcorn row.
Dec 1 st at both ends of each row, working 1 popcorn less
on each popcorn row, until all sts are worked off. Fasten off.
Work sc along top & around tab. Fasten off.
Sew back seam & tack tab in place.
