Vintage 1940s Vogue
Strapless Evening Blouse #167 - Knit

are for size 12.

MATERIALS:
Royal Society Sock & Sweater Yarn 4 ply, 2 [2-3] 2 oz balls each of white & green.

GAUGE-

sts = 1”;
8
rows = 1”
PATTERN:
With
green, p 1 row, k 1 row, twice.
With
white, k 1 row, p 1 row, twice; with green k 2 rows.
Rep
these 10 rows for patt.
BACK: [Sweater
is worked vertically.]
Start
at side edge with green, cast on 88 [94-100] sts.
Work
in patt until there are 12 [13-14] green & 11 [12-13] white stripes, end
with first 4 rows of green. Bind off.
TOP
FOLD:
With
wrong side facing [k side of green stripes is wrong side] & green, pick up
& k 96 [102-106] sts along top edge.
K
1 row, p 1 row, twice; & k 1 row.
Break
off green; with white, k 1 row, p 1 row, k 1 row.
Work
4 rows in k 1, p 1 rib. Bind off in
rib.
Turn
these 12 rows over on right side & press in place.
FRONT:
Work
as for back.
FINISHING:
Sew
up side seams.
CASING:
On
wrong side with yarn, make a back stitch ½” down from top fold at beg of one
stripe, * make 2nd back stitch ½” above at center of same stripe,
make a back stitch ½” down from top fold at beg of next stripe; rep from *
around top.
Run
ribbon thru casing.
Tie
ends at center-front.
Steam
lightly.
