“Light Refreshment”
Warm weather perfection --this two-piece knitted dress of Knit-Cro-Sheen. Smart and striking, and delightfully

right side of work toward you, work
in patt across 1st 52 sts, turn.
Hereafter
work
over these 52 sts only, keep 20 sts at neck edge in patt & dec 1 st on next
row & every 3rd row thereafter inside border, until 30 sts
rem.
Work
straight until piece meas 7” from 1st row of armhole shaping.
To
shape shoulder, starting
at armhole edge, bind off 5 sts every other row until all sts are worked
off. Break off.
Attach
thread to neck edge & work opposite side to correspond.
Sleeves:
Starting
at bottom, on straight needles cast on 92 sts & work in ribbing for 1”, inc
12 sts at equal distances apart on last row [ 104 sts ].
Then
cont, working in patt, as follows:
1st
row: [ K 3, p 1 ] 10 times, k 3, [ k 2 tog,
O, k 6 ] twice, k 2 tog, O, [ k 3, p 1 ] 10 times, k 3.
2nd
& all even rows: P across.
3rd

7th

To
shape top of sleeve,
bind off 3 sts at beg of each of next 2 rows.
Then
dec 1 st at end of each row until 54 sts rem.
Now
dec 1 st at both ends of each row until 22 sts rem. Bind off.
Sew
up shoulder seams.
Sew
up underarm seams, easing in extra fullness of Front 1 ½” down from armhole
shaping.
Sew
up sleeve seams & sew sleeves in.
Work
2 rows of sc all around neck edge.
SKIRT:
Starting
at bottom, with circular needle cast on 385 sts. Join, being careful not to twist sts.
1st
rnd: * K 6, p 1. Rep from * around.
2nd
rnd: K around.
Rep
these 2 rnds alternately until piece meas 4”.
On
next rnd, dec
10 sts at equal distances apart, making decs in center of every 5th
k rib.

Beading:
Attach thread to top of skirt & work row of sc all around waistline.

At
end of rnd, * ch 6, sl st in 6th row on wrong side & 4 sts to
left.
Ch
6, sl st in 6th st from last st at top edge. Rep from * around, forming V’s for elastic
casing. Break off.
Run
elastic through beading.
