Free Pattern - Vintage Ripple Bathroom Set to Crochet

Vintage Ripple Bathroom Set

MATERIALS: 
American Thread Co, Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn
6 - 70 yd skeins Pink 
4 - 70 yd skeins Cerise 
3 - 70 yd skeins Peach
Plastic Crochet Hook Size J 

GAUGE:
3 sc = 1"
SIZE:
27" x 39"
RUG:1st RND: With Cerise ch 36, 4 dc in 4th st from hk, 1 dc in each of next 31 sts of ch, 5 dc in last st of ch, work on opposite side of ch, 1 dc in each of next 31 sts, join in 3rd st of ch. 
2nd RND: Work in back lps of sts only thru out, sl st in next dc, 5 sc in next dc (center dc at end), * sk 2 dc, 5 sc in next dc, rep from * all around end to corres. Do not join this or following rnds. 
Place marker at beg of each rnd, cut cerise, attach pink. 
When changing colors always work last half of last st with next color. 
3rd RND: Sk joining st, 5 sc in next sl st (1 patt inc), sk next sc, sc in next sc, 5 sc in next sc (end), 1 sc in next sc, sk 1 sc, 5 sc in next sc (1 patt inc on each end), sc in next sc, * 3 sc in next sc, sc in next sc , sk 2 sc, 1 sc in next sc, rep from * 9 times, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, sk 1 st, 5 sc in next st, sc in next st, 5 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, 5 sc in next st (1 patt inc on each end), sk next st, sc in next st, * 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st, sk 2 sc, 1 sc in next st, rep from * 9 times, 3 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st (NOTE: 3 sc are always worked in center sc of 3 sc group).

8th RND: Sk last & 1st st, sc in next st, ** 3 sc in next st, sc in next st, sk 1 st, 5 sc in next st (1 patt inc), sk 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, 3 s in next st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts, sk 1 st, 5 sc in next st (1 patt inc at opposite end), sk 1 sc, 1 sc in next sc, * 3 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, rep from * 11 times, then rep from ** around opposite end end to corres, cut pink.

11th ROW: With right side facing have straight edge away from you attach pink in 3rd dc at left corner & work across sides & curved edge of cover only work to corres dc of right corner as follows: 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, * 3 sc in center sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * end to corres, sl st in 1st dc, cut yarn, do not turn. 
12th ROW: Attach pink in 1st sc & work same as last row, sl st in last sc, cut yarn. 
13th ROW: Attach pink in 1st sc, sc in same sp, 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, * sk next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, rep from * around sides have 9 sc bet sk sts at center of row, ch 1, turn. 
14th ROW: Work­ thru both lps, sc in 1st sc, * ch 1, sk 1 st, sc in next st, rep from *, ch 1, turn. 
15th ROW: 1 sc in each st, 1 sc in each ch 1 sp, cut yarn & steam. 
With pink crochet ch about 1½ yds long & lace thru ch 1 sps.
TISSUE TOPPER:With pink ch 44, join take care not to twist ch, 1 sc in 1st st of ch, 1 sc in each of next 2 chs, * 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in each of next 3 chs, sk 2 chs, 1 sc in each of next 3 chs, rep from * all around end with 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in each of next 3 chs. Do not join, place marker at beg of each rnd. 
NEXT RND: Attach peach, sk last ch & 1st sc, cont in established pat­t of 1st rnd. 
Work 2 more rnds peach, then 2 rnds pink, 2 rnds cerise, 2 rnds pink, 2 rnds peach. 
NEXT RND: With pink work in patt, work 5 sc in center st of each point. 
NEXT RND: Work same as last rnd, have 4 sc on each side of center st. 
NEXT RND: With cerise work same as last rnd, have 5 sc on each side of center st. 
NEXT RND: Work 1 sl st in each st, cut yarn. 
Draw points tog at top & steam.

POMPOM:
Wind cerise 50 times over 2" cardboard. 
Slip off cardboard, tie in center, cut both ends & trim into shape. 
Attach to top of cover as shown.
