BAG:
Ch
62, 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, * sk 2 sts; a shell of 7 dc in next
st, sk 2 sts, 1 sc in next st; rep from * to end [10 shells].
2nd
row [right side]: Ch 2, turn, & yo,
draw up a loop in next dc, yo & through 2 loops *; rep between *’s in each
of the next 2 dc, yo & through all 4
loops on hook, ch 1 for eye of inverted shell, ch 2, 1 sc in next dc, ** ch 2;
rep between *’s in each of the next 3 dc, next sc & next 3 dc, yo & through
all 8 loops, ch 1 for eye, ch 2, 1 sc in next dc **; rep between **’s end ch 2,
rep between *’s in each of the last 3 dc & in last sc, yo & through all
5 loops, ch 1 for eye.
3rd
row: Ch 2, turn, 3 dc in eye of half inverted
shell, * 1 sc in next sc, 7 dc in eye of next shell *; rep between *’s, end 1
sc in sc, 4 dc in eye of last half shell.
4th
row: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first dc; rep
between **’s of 2nd row, end last rep 1 sc in top of turning ch.
5th
row: Ch 1, turn; rep between *’s of 3rd row, end 1
sc in last sc.
Rep
last 4 rows until piece measures about 20”, end with 5th pattern row
[last row is worked from wrong side].
Fasten off.
Working
from right side, work 1 row of sc on foundation ch.
FINISHING:
Steam
lightly.
Fold
bag with foundation ch 2 ¼” from top of last row.
Sew
side edges, leaving 2 ¼” free for flap.
Line
bag with crinoline & lining.
Cover
2” buttonmolds or sew on buttons as shown in photo.
Sew
snap fasteners under buttons.
