CROWN:
1ST RND: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk.
1ST RND: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk.
2ND
RND: 2 Sc in each sc around.
3RD
RND: * 2 Sc in next sc, sc in next
sc. Rep from * around [6 incs].
4TH
RND: * Sc in each of nrxt 2 sc, 2 sc in
next sc. Rep from * around.
Cont
to inc 6 sc evenly on each rnd [do not inc directly above prev incs] until
piece is 3” from beg.
NEXT
RND: Work sc around without inc.
FOLLOWING
RND: Inc 9 sc evenly around.
Rep
last 2 rnds once more.
Work
sc around, inc if nec for proper headsize, until crown is 6” from beg. Sl st in next st. Break off.
DOUBLE
BRIM: With right side facing, attach
yarn in 2nd rnd from bottom of crown.
1ST
RND: Sc in each sc around.
2ND
RND: Working in front lp only, * sc in
next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Rep from *
around.
Working
in both lps, work even in sc for 1 ¾”.
Sl st in next st. Break off. This completes top section of brim.
With
wrong side toward you, attach yarn to last rnd of crown.
1ST
RND: Sc in each sc around.
2ND
RND: Working in front lp only, * sc in
next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc. Rep from *
around.
Working
in both lps, work even in sc for 1 ¾”.
LAST
RND: Thru both layers of brim, work sc
in each st around, thus joining.
FINISHING:
With darning needle & contrasting yarn, weave in & out bet sts for 1” at bottom of crown.
