The lightest, warmest
Bed jacket, knitted in lacey wool,
Deliciously lined with
silk georgette.

oz of Wakefield Greenwood’s W G “Springtime” lace botany
1 pair needles #11
1 yd of 1 ¼” satin ribbon
2 yds of georgette or ninon for lining
1 pair needles #11
1 yd of 1 ¼” satin ribbon
2 yds of georgette or ninon for lining

SLEEVES:

12” or desired seam length.
Shape top:
Dec
1 each end of every row 16 times, then every alternate row 8 times.
Cast
off 5 at beg of next 12 rows & 6 at beg of following 2 rows.
Cast
off 47 sts.
TO
MAKE UP:
Press
each piece on wrong side under a damp cloth.
Cut
out lining, use pieces as patt & allow ½” turnings.
Join
shoulders of yoke.
Sew
side & sleeve seams.
Seam
lining in same way.
Sew
lining inside yoke, sleeves & body, catching tog along the seams.
Turn
in seam allowance of lining at lower edge of body & sleeves; & slip
stitch very neatly to knitted edges.
Run
gathering thread along tops of back & fronts, gathering them in to fit
yoke.
Stitch
gathered edges under knitted edge of yoke, easing most of fullness towards
center-back & center-front.
Turn
in seam allowance of yoke lining & sl st neatly over raw gathered
edges.
Make
deep inverted pleat in center of each sleeve top, making sleeve top same size
as armhole.
Set
in sleeves.
Turn
in seam allowance of yoke lining & slip stitch round armhole.
Press
all seams.
Sew
on ribbon.
