Crisp mesh gloves you can quickly crochet to wear with your
town suit or your country togs…so easy to create…you may wish to create another
pair…to gift, or wear!

MATERIALS:
Royal Society Six Cord Cordichet, small ball, size #30:
3 balls of main color [MC] & 1 ball of contrasting color [CC]
Steel Crochet Hook #10 or #11

GAUGE:
9 lps = 2”
8 rnds = 1”

LEFT GLOVE:
Start at wrist with MC, ch 127. Join with sl st to form ring, careful not to twist chain.

1ST RND:
* Ch 4, sk 3 ch, sc in next ch.
Rep from * around, end with ch 4; sk last 2 ch & join sl st, work sc
in 1st lp made [32 lps].
2ND RND:
* Ch 4, sc in next lp. Rep from *
around.
Rep last rnd until piece meas 1 ½” [end with sc], then
start shaping for thumb as follows:
1ST RND: Ch 4, sc in next lp, ch 4, sc in same lp [inc made], * ch 4, sc in next lp. Rep from * around. Mark inc with colored thread.
1ST RND: Ch 4, sc in next lp, ch 4, sc in same lp [inc made], * ch 4, sc in next lp. Rep from * around. Mark inc with colored thread.
2ND & 3RD RNDS: Work ch-4 lps around as before.
4TH RND:
Make inc directly above prev inc.
Rep last 3 rnds until 8 incs have been made in all.
NEXT RND: Work lps
around, end with sc in 5th lp before inc lp, then ch 6, sk 9 lps, sc
in next lp.
FOLLOWING RND: * Ch
4, sc in next lp. Rep from * around to
last lp before ch-6, then ch 4, sk 1 ch of ch-6, sc in next ch, ch 4, sk 2 ch,
sc in next ch, * ch 4, sc in next lp.
Rep from * around.
Cont to work lps around [32 lps in rnd] until piece meas 5
¼” from starting chain.
Put glove on & mark fingers by putting safety pin on palm
& back of hand bet each finger.
FOREFINGER:
Work around to pin on back of hand which marks off lps for forefinger, ch 3 & cont around lps of forefinger on palm.

Cont to work lps around [make 1 lp over ch-3 bet fingers]
until finger, when tried on, reaches to ¼” from fingertip [about 2 ¾”].
NEXT RND: Work sc in
each lp around.
FOLLOWING RND: Sc in
every other sc around. Fasten off, leave
6” length of thread.
Thread this end into sewing needle & draw thu to wrong
side. Darn in end to reinforce tip.
MIDDLE FINGER:
With back of hand toward you, attach thread in sc at center of ch-3 of forefinger [bet palm & back of hand], sc in same place, ch 4 & work across lps marked off on back of hand for middle finger, ch 3, work across lps of middle finger on palm.

LITTLE FINGER:
Attach thread in sc at center of ch-3 of ring finger & work around lps marked off for little finger [about 2”].

Finish as for forefinger.
THUMB:
Attach thread & work around lps of thumb until ¼” from tip of thumb [about 2 ¼”].

Finish as for forefinger.
EDGING:
Attach CC thread to any lp at wrist of glove.
Attach CC thread to any lp at wrist of glove.
Work 2 sc in same lp [yo & draw up lp in same place] 3
times; yo & draw thru all 7 lps on hk [cluster made], ch 2, 2 sc in same
lp. * In next lp work 2 sc, cluster, ch
2 & 2 sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st & fasten off.
With 4 strands of CC & sewing needle, work
featherstitch design around wrist [working over sc] as in photo. If desired, another embroidery design may be
substituted.
