½ Straight Needles - 7 sts = 1”;

½ Straight Needles - 8 ½ sts = 1”
JACKET:
BACK:
With
jade & #3 ½ needles cast on 120 sts, k plain for 4”, dec 1 st each side
every 6th row 7 times, then work in stockinette st [st st] for 2”
even, then inc 1 st each side every inch 7 times.
Work
even until underarm meas 14” from start.
Bind
off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows for underarm, then dec 1 st each side every
other row 10 times.
Work
even until armholes meas 8”, then bind off 8 sts at beg of next 8 rows [32 sts
for each slanting shoulder], bind off rem sts for back of neck.
JACKET:
RIGHT
FRONT:
Cast
on 65 sts, k 4” border, work even at front edge & dec & inc at underarm
side same as on back.
Now
work in st st, work buttonhole on first row as follows: k 4, bind off 8, k to end of row.
On
next row cast on 8 sts over those bound off.
K last 4 sts, for start of rever.
At
end of next p row k last 10 sts for rever [all sts of revers are plain
knitting].
Now
inc 1 st every 4th row at front edge [have 1 more k st on p row for
rever] 11 times, then inc 1 st every other row 38 times [at same time when
underarm meas 15”, bind off 8 sts & dec for armhole same as back].
Work
4 rows even at front edge, then work 1 less p st [thus making 1 more k st] on p
rows at inside of revers every 8th row, at same time binding off 3
sts at front edge every other row 10 times, then 2 sts every other row 18
times.
When
armhole meas same as back, bind off for slanting shoulder in same manner. Work left front to corres.
SLEEVES:
With
#2 ½ needles cast on 56 sts, k plain for 4”, change to #3 ½ needles, inc 1 st
each side every 10th row 14 times, work in patt as follows: st st 1”, plain knit 4”, st st 1”, plain knit
4”.
Now
work in st st.
When
sleeve meas 17” or desired length, bind off 4 sts at beg of next 2 rows for
underarm, then dec 1 st at beg of every row 16 times, then bind off 2 sts at
beg of every row until 24 sts rem, bind off.
Sew
shoulder seams; sew sleeves in place; sew underarm seams, ease in fullness of
fronts toward underarm.
Work
1 row sc around neck & revers.
Over-cast
buttonholes.
With
double strand of yarn, crochet ch 1 ¼” long, fasten button at each end.
SKIRT:
With
jade & circular needle cast on 350 sts, k 1 row, p 1 row for 4”.
K
6” even.
On
next row dec by k every 16th & 17th st tog, k 4”
even.
On
next row dec by k every 15th & 16th st tog, k 4”
even.
On
next row dec by k every 11th & 12th st tog, k 8”
even.
On
next row dec by k every 9th & 10th st tog, k 3” even.
On
next row dec by k every 6th & 7th st tog, k 3” even
or desired length, bind off.
Work
beading or casing at top of skirt for elastic.
BLOUSE:
BACK:
With
canary & #2 ½ needles cast on 120 sts, k 1, p 1 [ribbing] for 1”, then k 1
row, p 1 row [stockinette st = st st] for 10”.
Bind
off 5 sts at beg of next 2 rows for underarm, then dec 1 st each side every
other row 7 times [96 sts rem].
Work
even until armhole meas 8”, bind off.
BLOUSE:
FRONT:
Cast
on 134 sts, work same as back until work meas 12” from start to underarm, then
bind off 5 sts at beg of next 2 rows & dec 1 st each side every other row
10 times [104 sts rem].
Work
even until armhole meas same as back, bind off loosely across front for neck.
SLEEVES:
Cast
on 86 sts, k 1 row, p 1 row, for 2 ½”, then bind off 5 sts at beg of next 2
rows, then dec 1 st at beg of every row until 32 sts rem, bind off.
Sew
front & back tog for 2 ¼” each side for shoulder.
Sew
sleeves in place; sew underarm seams, ease in fullness of front toward
underarm.
Make
1 row sc around neck & sleeves, working loosely across front of neck.
