Free Pattern - Vintage Lace Flower Basket to Crochet

MATERIALS:
J & P Coats or Clarks ONT Best Six Cord Mer­cerized Crochet, Size 30, 1 small ball
1 Steel Crochet Hook #10 or #11
1 yd of Ribbon

1ST RND: Start at center of Bot­tom, ch 4, 14 dc in 4th ch from hk. Sl st in top st of starting ch. 

2ND RND: Ch 4, * dc in next dc, ch 1. Re­p from * around, end with ch 1, sl st in 3rd st of ch-4 = 15 sps. 

3RD RND: Ch 3, * 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc. Rep from * around, end with 1 dc in last sp, sl st in top st of ch-3 = 44 dc, count start ch as 1 dc. 

4TH RND: Ch 5, * sk 1 dc, dc in next dc, ch 2. Rep from * around. Sl st in 3rd st of ch-5 = 22 sps. 

5TH RND: Ch 3, * 3 dc in next sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Join = 77 dc, count start ch as 1 dc.

SIDE:
1ST RND: Work in back lp only, make sc in each dc around. Join. 

2ND RND: Ch 5, * sk 1 sc, tr in next sc, ch 1. Rep from * around. Sl st in 4th st of ch-5 = 39 sps. 

3RD RND: 2 sc in each sp around. Join = 78 sc. 

4TH RND: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 5, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc. Rep from * around, end with ch 2, dc in 1st sc = 26 lps. 

5TH RND: * Ch 5, sc in next lp, 5 dc in next sc (shell made), sc in next lp. Re­p from * around, ending with shell, sl st in dc = 13 lps & 13 shells in rnd. 

6TH RND: Sl st in next 2 ch, sc in lp, * ch 5, sc in center dc of next shell, ch 5, sc in next lp. Rep from * around, end with ch 2, dc in 1st sc. 

7TH, 8TH & 9TH RNDS: Re­p 5th, 6th & 5th rnds. 

10TH RND: Make ch-6 lps around, end with ch 3, dc in 1st sc. 

11TH RND: Same as 5th rnd, make ch-7 (instead of ch-5) for lps & 7 dc (instead of 5 dc) for shells. 

12TH RND: Make ch-7 lps around, end with ch 7, sl st in 1st sc. 

13TH RND: Sl st in next 2 ch, sc in lp, * in next sc make (tr, ch-1) 6 times & tr; sc in next lp, ch 5, sc in next lp. Rep from * around, end with ch 5, sl st in 1st sc. 

14TH RND: Sl st in next tr, * sc in next ch-1 sp, (ch 5, sc in next ch-1 sp) 5 times; ch 5, sc in ch-5 lp, ch 5. Rep from * around. Join; break off.

BASE:
1ST RND: Attach thread to last rnd of Bottom & make sc in back lp of each st around. Join. 

2ND RND: Same as 2nd rnd of Side. 

3RD RND: Sc in each tr & 2 sc in each sp around. Join & break off.

HANDLE:Make ch about 8" long. 

Tr in 7th ch from hk, * ch 1, sk 1 ch, tr in next ch. Rep from * across. 

Do not break off,, but make sc closely all around edges. Join & break off.

Run ribbon thru sps of Handle & sew ends. 

Sew Handle to Basket. 

Make small bow & sew to center of Handle. 

Run ribbon through sps of 2nd rnd of Side. 

Make bow & sew.
