Vintage Floral Bathroom Set
MATERIALS:
American Thread Co, Aunt Lydia's Heavy Rug Yarn
12 - 70 yd skeins White
1 - 70 yd skein Yellow
2 - 70 yd skeins Pink
3 - 70 yd skeins Moss
Plastic Crochet Hook Size J
[Or any size hook which results in motif stitch gauge shown.]
GAUGE:
Each motif meas 7½" across points.
Each motif meas 7½" across points.
RUG:
MOTIF:
With Yellow ch 4, join to form a ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join in 1st sc, cut yarn.
2nd RND: Attach Pink in same st with join, * ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hk, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts of ch, sc in next sc of 1st rnd, rep from * all around, join, cut yarn.
3rd RND: Attach Moss in sc at any point, sc in same sp, ** ch 3, sc in same sp, ch 3, sk 1 dc, * yo hk, insert in next st, pick up & pull thru 2 lps, rep from * once, skip next dc, next sc, & next dc of next point, * yo h, insert in base of next st, pick up & pull thru 2 lps, rep from last * once, yo & pull thru all lps on hk (cluster st), ch 3, sc in sc of point, rep from ** all around end to corres, join, cut yarn.
4th RND: Hold Moss rnd to front thru out rnd, attach White in same sc at point, ch 3, work 4 dc in same st, * work 4 dc in next sk dc of 3rd rnd of same point, 4 dc in next sk dc of next point, 5 dc in sc at point, rep from * all around end to corres, join in 3rd st of ch.
5th RND: Work in back lp of sts work 1 sc in same sp, 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, * insert hk in next st, pull thru, rep from * once, yo & pull thru all lps at 1 time, 1 sc in each of next 11 sts, then rep from 1st * all around end to corres, join, cut yarn.
Work 18 more motifs.
Sew motifs tog in back lp of sts, sew from center st of 1 point to center st of next point & arranging motifs as shown.
BORDER:Attach White in sc over 1st dc of center 5 dc group of any corner motif, work in back lp of sts, sc in same sp, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts, ** 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 1 sc in each of next 9 sts, work on straight edge of motifs * 1 dc in each of next 7 sts, keep last lp of each dc on hk, 1 dc in next st (st where motif is joined), 1 dc in join, 1 dc in next st join, yo hk & pull thru all lps, 1 dc in each of next 7 sts, 1 sc in each of next 9 sts, rep from * once, then rep from ** end to corres, join.
NEXT 3 RNDS: Work in back lp of sts, 1 sc in each st, join, cut yarn at end of last rnd.
FRINGE:
Cut White in 10" lengths.
Cut White in 10" lengths.
Take 2 strands, double in half & lp thru every other sc all around.
* Take half of 1 group of fringe & half of next group of fringe, knot tog ½" from 1st row of knots, rep from * all around, then rep from 1st * for another row of knots.
Trim fringe evenly.
TISSUE COVER:
Work 1st 3 rnds of motif same as rug.
Work 1st 3 rnds of motif same as rug.
4th RND: Hold Moss rnd to front & work in same manner as rug, attach White in same sc at point, 5 sc in same st, * work 3 sc in next sk dc of same point of 3rd rnd, 3 sc in next sk dc of next point, 5 sc in sc at point, rep from * all around, join in 1st sc.
5th RND: Work in back lp of sts thru out, sc in same sp, 1 sc in each of next 5 sc, ** dc in next sc, * yo hk, insert hk in next st, pull yarn thru, work off 2 lps, rep from * once, yo hk & pull thru all lps at 1 time, dc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, rep from ** all around, end to corres, join in 1st sc.
6th RND: Sc in same sp, 1 sc in each of next 5 sts, ** dec 2 sts in next 3 dc (to dec 2 sts: * insert hk in next st, pull yarn thru, rep from * twice, yo & pull thru all lps), 1 sc in each of next 7 sts, rep from ** all around end to corres, join (48 sc).
NEXT 11 RNDS: 1 sc in each sc, join each rnd.
NEXT RND: (BRIM): 1 sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, rep from beg all around, join (60 sc).
NEXT 3 RNDS: 1 sc in each sc, join, cut yarn at end of last rnd.
CORD:
Crochet ch about ¾ yd long, cut yarn.
Crochet ch about ¾ yd long, cut yarn.
Wind yarn 10 times over 1½" cardboard for tassel, tie 1 end, slip off cardboard, tie again ½" below tie, cut other end, trim evenly.
Attach tassel at each end & tie around cover as shown.
SEAT COVER:Work 7 motifs same as Tissue Cover above, work 1st 5 rnds.
Sew motifs tog in same manner as rug, then sew motifs tog on outside edge from compl point to center dc of next point.
NEXT RND: Attach White in center sc of next point after join, work in back lp of sts sc in same sp, 1 sc in each of next 10 sts, * sdc in next st (sdc: (yo, insert in st, pull thru yo & pull thru all lps at 1 time), dc in next st, keep last lp of each st on hk, 1 dc in next 2 sts, 1 dc in joined st, yo & pull thru all lps, keep last lp of sts on hk 1 dc in next joined st, 1 dc in next 2 sts, yo & pull thru all lps, dc in next st, sdc in next st, 1 sc in each of next 11 sts, rep from * all around end to corres, join.
NEXT RND: 1 sc in each st, join.
NEXT RND: BEADING: Sc in next sc, * ch 1, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc, rep from * all around.
